Newtonmore is the walking centre of Scotland, with all types of walks easily accessible from the door, including the Wildcat Trail. Both the Cairngorms and Nevis ranges are within easy reach.
Downhill skiing is available at both Cairngorm and Nevis Range, hire and instruction are available at both centers. Ski Touring is good on the Monadhliath Mountains behind the house and in the Cairngorms.
There are great opportunities for both road and mountain biking in the area including Wolftrax a purpose built mountain biking area.
There are two watersports centers nearby, Loch Insh and Loch Morlich, providing hire of equipment and tuition. The Spey river runs past the bottom of the village and there are good swimming spots in the glen behind the house.
Fishing is available at many sites along the spey and in local lochs. Permits are available locally.
There are lots of excellent bird watching areas including RSPB reserves at Insh Marshes and Loch Garten for Ospreys.
There are scenic golf courses at Newtonmore and Kingussie. Both welcome visitors and club hire is available.

There are a wide variety of visitor attractions within easy reach of the house. Some of our favourites are the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore , Highland Wildlife Park , Dalwhinnie Distillery , Cairngorm Mountain Railway , Strathspey Steam Railway , Rothiemurchus Estate and the Landmark Centre.
Further afield there is Inverness, Loch Ness, Ben Nevis, Blair Atholl and Culloden battlefield.
The house is well equipped with information and suggestions for all activities and attractions.
